Theatre Alliance are thrilled to be appearing at the forthcoming National Festival of Youth Theatre.

The prestigious three day event, featuring companies from across the UK, takes place from the 1st to 3rd July at The Gaiety Theatre in Ayr.

Our Young Dance Alliance Company will appear on the final day of the prestigious festival, with a brand new work entitled ‘Sixteen’. The piece will be written and directed by Theatre Alliance’s Artistic Director Marlisa Ross.

The new work will be a semi-verbatim piece, focusing on the experiences and challenges of growing up as a teenage girl in Ayrshire over the past 60 years. The piece is based on interviews and is a personal portrait of life as a teenage girl in the past, present and future.

NFYT is the largest gathering of youth theatres in the UK and enables young people to come together, discover and celebrate a shared passion, offering them the opportunity to develop as artists, audience members and creative thinkers. With an emphasis on inclusion, education and collaboration, NFYT aims to remove barriers, teach valuable life skills and provide extraordinary new experiences. Theatre Alliance are thrilled to be involved!

You can catch our performance at The Gaiety in Ayr on Sunday 3rd July at 7.30pm. Information about tickets and how you can watch the performances is coming very soon!
