Dr. Marlisa Ross

Choreographer & Artistic Director

Marlisa is based in Glasgow. She completed the BMus Honours degree at the University of Glasgow before undertaking her PhD at the University of Manchester, focusing on Russian ballet and theatre in emigration. 

After completion of her PhD, Marlisa became a Music and Performing Arts lecturer in the college and university sectors in London before returning to Scotland to undertake a lecturing position in Popular Music at Perth College, University of the Highlands and Islands. She currently works at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.  

Marlisa was also Head of Dance at Centrestage Music Theatre in Kilmarnock, where she was responsible for the creation of a broad range of original dance theatre productions including Lord of the Flies, One Flew Over, Shell Shock, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Othello, Romeo and Juliet, The Great Gatsby, Edelweiss Pirates, 1984, Wooden Heart, The Witches of Bargarran and Stepford Wives. In these works, she fulfilled the role of writer, choreographer and director. Marlisa was also the lead choreographer for musical theatre productions at Centrestage.  

Marlisa has a broad range of experience as a Choreographer and Director for both dance theatre and musical theatre productions.

Stuart Bird

Musical Director

Stuart is based in Glasgow and trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama.

During his time at RSAMD (now Royal Conservatoire Scotland), Stuart studied Music and Education.  In his Honours year, he studied Performance as a Singer and also majored in Arranging & Orchestration.

Stuart immediately began teaching in the Secondary and Primary sectors in East Kilbride just outside Glasgow.   Prior to graduation in 1995, Stuart also incorporated his own Children’s & Youth Theatre Company, Spotlight Youth Theatre.

Stuart created his own theatre school in Glasgow and then went onto work with The Brit School and Bird College of Theatre & Dance both in London. He returned to Scotland to work with Centrestage in Kilmarnock and also with regional panto producer Imagine Theatre. He now works with Hamilton Theatre Arts in Glasgow.

In 1998, Stuart was nominated and awarded runner up for Glasgow’s City Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Stuart has extensive experience as a Musical Director for Theatre and more recently, as Director on a wide variety of musicals and also panto.
